Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actor, performer, and songwriter for many years. She was raised by her mom throughout the USA she had to face numerous racial insults and made her feel being unwanted. If she attended an event at school and was given great praise for her performance, in ninth grade the young girl started to feel more confident. Not only did it boost her confidence, but also her goals transformed. In 1992, she earned her diploma from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. Her greatest break came in the role of The Lady of The Lake, in the original Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her role. Later in the same year she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider acceptance for the role. She is known as a performer and also released a single and an extended play. Also, she's been a vocal advocate for LGBT issues.
