Ali MacGraw

Elizabeth Alice MacGraw better known as Ali MacGraw is an award-winning American actress, model, writer as well as an animal rights activist. Her films comprise Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus ( 1969) and The Getaway ( 1972). She grew up in an artist family in New York and wanted to pursue a career in art. Beginning she was employed as an assistant in photography. In the future her work changed towards modeling and directing. The first two films she made were noticed and she received an award called the Golden Globe Award of Most Promising newcomer. MacGraw quickly became famous following the success of her 1970 film Love Story. She was selected for an Academy Award and won a Golden Globe. With just three releases MacGraw was named the top female box-office debut worldwide. In Grauman's Chinese Theater In 1972, she was able to have her name and footprints hand-engraved. Her other credits include The Getaway Convoy Players, the miniseries on TV The Winds of War and others. Her autobiography, published in 1991 Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw was divorced three times.
